We are an 'open access' community choir - open to all, regardless of ability or previous singing experience, without audition. Songs are taught by ear and there is no need to be able to read music. Lyric sheets and sound files are used to support learning.
We sing an eclectic mix of musical styles - probably best described as World Folk. This includes music from the English-speaking world, Eastern Europe and Africa. We are also fortunate to have worked with, and commissioned, contemporary British composers.
We usually learn a programme of songs during the year which are then performed in concert in late Spring or early Summer, often in collaboration with other choirs or musical groups.
We are based in Halesworth and have members from Bungay in the North to Saxmundham in the South, from Hoxne in the West to Brampton in the East. We meet every other Sunday morning (10:30 to 12:30) between September and May, usually at The Cut Arts Centre in Halesworth.
We were formed in 2006 by Bridget Cousins and Sian Croose. Janet Koralambe became our Musical Director in Autumn 2013 when Bridget moved away from Suffolk.
